Practice this exercise with a sounding point close to the fingerboard.

Use very little bow pressure, and don't change the pressure with your index finger while you practice this bow speed exercise.

Start a down bow at the frog near the fingerboard.

Pull the sounding point to the bridge until you reach the middle of the bow.

Move back to the fingerboard.
