Hsiaopei Lee
A native of Taiwan, HSIAOPEI LEE came to United States in 1998, finished a Master of Arts degree in music education at Columbia University and in 1999 began work toward a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in viola performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with a full scholarship and teaching assistantship. Lee began viola studies at age 11 in Taiwan. Her teachers have included Ting-Hui Chen, Heng-Ming Chen, and Yu-Ling Chu. As an active performer, Lee has appeared regularly as soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician and has been a member of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra since 2001. She was the mentor of viola section at Sinfonia and Concert Orchestra at the Aspen Music Festival and School during the past three summers.
Lee is currently a DMA degree candidate at University of Cincinnati where she also teaches viola in the Starling Preparatory String Project.
She has studied viola with Masao Kawasaki and Cathar粑ne Carroll for the past five years. |
